Northumberland can be the best place in the world to cycle if we have...

Better, joined up infrastructure

Too many cycle lanes are paint on the road, if we want more children, tourists and even nervous cyclists to make more journeys by bike, we need the proper infrastructure that’s in place in other parts of the country. This means dedicated infrastructure, quiet routes and integration with trains and busses.

Too often cycle lanes stop before you get to where you want to go. We need infrastructure to be joined up so that we can get from A to B completely by bike.

Behaviour change programmes

Not everyone knows how to ride a bike or can ride confidently on our roads. We know how fun cycling is and that people shouldn’t miss out just because their parents didn’t teach them!

If we want more people to have the joy of cycling in their life, we need people to have the capability, opportunity and motivation to get on a bike.

Woah. Hold your handlebars.
